Loch Venachar is in Scotland (about 4 miles from Callander and about 1 hours drive from Glasgow). There is great fishing there; they have a really good stock of brown trout especially.
This is a brown trout we caught while away camping there around 2 weeks ago. We caught around 7 in all and none of them were under 2 lbs in weight.
The weather was fantastic all day and we set up our fishing gear when it started to get dark, and fished until around 3 a.m.
The only problem with the whole trip though was the dreaded Scottish midges! As usual the only thing to keep the bitey little blighters at bay was Avon's Skin So Soft spray. Seriously, it is the only thing that works, and we have tried every remedy known to man!!!
It hasn't put us off going back to Loch Venachar though, as the scenery is so stunning. It's incredible to think that you're only one hour's drive from Glasgow!
Anyway, I hope you all like the picture as I'm quite proud of it!
