Any experienced camper will say that camping gear is definitely an important element in tent camping outdoors. It’s just not quite camping without good camping equipment! Some people might say that it’s not very important, but most will agree that having the right outdoor gear makes a big difference in a rewarding camping experience. So what kind of gear do you need?
One of the most important items for camping is a sleeping bag. You’ll need one to truly stay warm and comfortable through the night outdoors. True, you could just use a few blankets… But what you really want is a quality sleeping bag that has been designed for outdoor camping conditions such as cold and moisture. A tent is another important piece of your camping gear. It provides protection and shelter from the elements. And not just any tent will do. There are a lot of poor quality tents out there, and there are some really great ones, too. Your choice of a tent should be based on how it will be used, and what conditions you expect to camp out it. A good quality camping tent can give you years of camping enjoyment. For those who like to rough it, with as few items as possible: great! But many campers like to bring along as many comforts of civilized life as they can. Cooking gear, portable toilets, outdoor showers, shower enclosures, foldable chairs, etc. are all equipment that can make camping a worthwhile experience. If you are bringing children along, there’s a wide array of kids camping gear designed especially in smaller sizes for kids. Kid’s sleeping bags, kids tents, camp chairs and other gear really help make camping fun for your child, too. No one knows what you will need on your outdoor adventure better than you do. So ask around, find out what other people you know use and recommend, and do your online research. Make a list of stuff to bring along ahead of time.
